I don't have Excel 2016 but I've used Solver in 2010. I used it both through the GUI and with VBA. I don't understand when you say blank sheet. I'm running Office for Mac and have to work with spreadsheets for preseason orders of product for my business - the companies are all still building spreadsheets for PC, but as my business also involves a lot of photo and video editing, I'm running a Mac. This was always a problem due to VB macros, until Office 2011 dropped and solved the problem.

Follow these steps to correct the issue.
- Close Creative Solutions.
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Verify Microsoft Office 32-bit is installed: File > Account > About Word. Show me
- If 64-bit is listed, you'll need to uninstall Microsoft Office 64-bit and install Microsoft Office 32-bit, then skip to step 4.
- If Microsoft Office 32-bit is installed, run the Office Repair Utility.
- CloseWordand any other Office programs.
- Browse to Programs and Features (or Programs > Uninstall a program) in the Control Panel.
- Select Microsoft Office from the list of programs.
- Click the Change (or Modify) button.
- Choose QuickRepair.
- Restart computer.
